Amazing large scale mural in Lisbon…

Bizarre Beyond Belief Magazine

How and Nosm recently painted a large scale mural for Underdogs in Lisbon, Portugal. The video’s narration is in Portuguese, however, the duo’s distinctive red, white and black style is recognizable in any language.

It is so cold, these pigs need a blanket.

What a fantastic recipe idea for the colder months of the year.

This blog is for the pigs 001

It is still so cold here in this part of Texas after the ice storm that I felt that my husband and I needed a good comfort food.  I found this recipe about 15 years ago and I have made it before.  It reminds me of the ‘Pigs in a Blanket’ that was served at the school that I attended when I was a child.  This is not the healthiest recipe but it really does taste good now and again.  This recipe calls for regular hot dogs that are split and cheese is put into the split.  I just  use hot dogs that already have the cheese in them.  I do prefer Ball Park franks but I used Eckrich franks for this.  Any type of franks, hot dogs, or smoked sausage could be used for this.  I certainly need to get some yeast that is more fresh but what I…

INTERNET

First of all, I must say I’m probably not the best person when it comes to the moving of sites on the internet which is why I asked my dear Husband to do that part for me. I let him know I’d announced on my blog that I was moving my wordpress blog to my actual website and he informed me that I should have let everyone know what to do beforehand. I told him that I thought I did by posting that I was moving … apparently, that wasn’t the case. After being teased for years that I go into too much detail, he informed me that I should have been more detailed! *sighs* So here goes….

Apparently (after receiving more instructions!), if you follow my blog through WordPress (by using the little “follow” button at the top so it shows in the reader) and not through the email subscription section you will not receive updates when I make a new post. Gee I really hope I got that right and explained that enough. If not, perhaps someone who has already done this before could let me know in the comments field.

Basically, all you have to do to keep following me is Subscribe via Email – that way, your subscription will come over with me when I move.

I really hope that makes sense and I’ve tried not to be too detailed but also tried not to confuse people too. *laughs*

I told my Husband, “I just paint, not move blogs around!”

Hopefully this works and if you haven’t already subscribed, then please do that via the email box at the top right of the sidebar and I hope to see you all very soon!

ps. Of course, if I still haven’t been detailed enough, I shall be posting on here again. *winks*

Moving to new digs

Posted in Art, Blogging on... with tags , , , , , on November 15, 2013 by lollipop-designs

Hi everyone, I’ve been quiet online lately as I’m in the midst of sourcing supplies for a Commission I’ve received from a hospital here in Melbourne (but more on that in another post).

My main website http://www.lollipop-designs.com has been under maintenance and one of the final steps is to move my blog over there, which will enable the freedom of file sizes, main store, ordering, contact, commissions etc.

I will have a redirect on this one for the next 12 months and I hope that during that time, your bookmarks will be updated and newsletters will show the new blog site. At least, that’s what the plan is and I just hope it all goes smoothly. *fingers crossed*

Until my next post, my best regards to you all!

Big Eye Girl Artwork made into Pendant Necklace

Posted in Art with tags , , , , on October 24, 2013 by lollipop-designs

I have been busy waiting on various materials for making holiday gifts before the big rush towards December. I got everything I needed ordered early but the mail system had other ideas to do with punctuality of their deliveries and things being held up in customs etc! Well, such is life I guess. Not much we can do about it. 😉 And the materials did end up arriving even if they were 6 weeks late, I shouldn’t complain.

What I’ve made is this beautiful unique vintage/cameo look pendant and necklace in Antique Copper which comes with any choice of Big Eye Girl Original Artwork inside.

You can choose from Matilda, Meredith, Miranda or Millie (as pictured)

Pendant3 (Large)

Pendant8 (Large)

I personally think they would make wonderful gift ideas for Birthdays, Holidays/Christmas and Special Occasions.

♥ Measurements♥

Necklace 18″ length
Pendant 25mm or 1″ inside diameter
Pendant approximately 10mm glass height when laying flat

If you have any questions at all or would like to have one of these customized for yourself or as a gift, just message me through my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/lollipopdesignsau or by visiting my Etsy store (see the top right of this page).

Wishing you a wonderful day!
ps. My next project is making a vintage/cameo princess filigree ring 🙂

Big Eye Girl Art Diary and ACEO Mini Canvas Boards

Posted in Art, Crafty Miscellaneous items with tags , , , , on September 27, 2013 by lollipop-designs

This week started off really great then went downhill really fast when the printers decided to take it upon themselves to change the measurements and colours of the art files I’d given them to print. I was really disappointed but I had to work quickly to get it fixed and luckily, fix it they did!

So moving right along, I have come up with two new items that are now ready in the Big Eye Girl Art range. This type of art is for the little girl or little girl at heart. I think there’s one in all of us (especially most of us females *winks*!)

One of them is a Diary for 2014. The Diary size is A5 measuring 210mm x 148mm. I personally think it’s a great size to keep in your handbag or backpack. The outside of the Diary has a plastic vinyl sleeve which protects both the front cover and back cover art. Inside the Diary has all of the Australian Holidays listed, both Public and School. This is a perfect gift idea for someone local!

DIARY FRONT 2014 Meredith (Medium)

DIARY FRONT 2014 Millie (Medium)

DIARY FRONT 2014 Miranda (Medium)

My next item is Big Eye Girl Art prints onto mini canvas boards. The mini canvas boards measure 64x89mm or 2.5″x3.5″ They’re soooooooo cute and look great on little mini easels which can be purchased at any craft shop.

In the meantime, have a happy weekend and thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂

Big-Eyed Girl Art …. Part 2 We have progress!

Posted in Art, Crafty Miscellaneous items with tags , , , , on September 22, 2013 by lollipop-designs

A couple of months ago, I began sketching and working on a set of Big-Eyed Girl designs. During this time, I played around with my sketches, hair color, eye color, faces, different background and foreground designs etc. I have finally had enough time in between (what I call) my busy “normal” life to create some high res pictures of my original set of four girl characters, being Matilda, Millie, Miranda and Meredith (and just in case you were wondering, yes, those last two names are from Grey’s Anatomy – I began watching the show when I was thinking of names lol).

The amazingly talented Artist Jim Chiang of the SecondWorstArtistInTheWorld Blog had a wonderful idea to make the pictures into high res wallpapers and I still plan on doing that. Thank you again Jim for that great idea! 🙂

These are the designs now that I have changed them and if you have time, I’d love to see and hear what you think. I am quite partial to the colors myself. I find autumn colors rather relaxing. Must be that color therapy I hear so much about. I’ve created a slightly vintage looking background and foreground in a range of sepia tones that the girls are now taking form in.

Please note though, these pictures are in a low resolution. The prints are in a high resolution and are too large to upload here unfortunately. If you would like to see the high res files, simply leave me a message on Facebook.
