Chipmunk riding Harley Davidson custom painting

One of the pieces I’m currently working on a custom request for a character with dark sunglasses on, riding a Harley Davidson.  I’ve opted to put the motorbike on a highway doing a ride-by with some brown/green grass at the edges of the road.  The chipmunk will be the character as I think it’s rather cute with it’s oversized teeth.  I put a leather vest on it so it should blend right in with other motorbike enthusiasts I hope.

Part 1 – Sketch of chipmunk (hope it looks like one because we don’t have chipmunks here in Australia, so I had to google what one looked like haha!) riding a Harley Davidson.

The client has asked for the theme to be black and orange so this will be quite striking with the colour contrasts.  I’m looking forward to painting this and excited to see how it turns out!

And now this one is finished – If you would like to see each stage as it is painted, I post them on my fb page at:  If you like my art, please swing by and “Like” me on Facebook too.  🙂

The painting finished is below.

Word Pop Art handpainted painting

I thought I’d do something a little different and do a word with a pop art styled background and a street art themed word.  To be honest, it made me wish I had an airbrushing kit to use.  But I eventually got it done by handpainting all of it except for the outlining, where I used Molotow Paint Markers (the best art markers in the world!!! 😀 )

Anyway, I hope you like it and to show the process from the beginning to the end, I’ve attached all of the pics so one can see the stages.  For me, the most frustrating part is waiting for the paint to dry.   Plus I paint from the right hand side of a canvas as I’m left handed, otherwise I end up smudging everything that I’ve just done.  *Sigh*  I guess it’s the same for a right hander.  Ah, the joys of painting huh!

Giraffe Painting acrylics on canvas 80x40cm or 31 1/2 x 15 2/4 inches

IMG_20121209_182305 (Medium) I gave this cute painting to dear friends’s little boy called Olivier for Christmas. He loves it and his talented Mum has artfully rearranged his whole room so when you walk in, you have the giraffe on the wall with Olivier’s name above it. Looks fantastic!

I’m finally on ETSY!

It’s taken a while (well, since November, last year), but I have finally finished enough designs/paintings to put up on ETSY at last.  I’m still adding the rest of the paintings on there as I finish each description.  I think the longest part was using the Australia Post parcel calculator online to get prices on Air Mail etc (almost had a heart attack a few times looking at the prices, yikes!).  I guess that’s what happens when you live on a giant island in the southern hemisphere bordering the Pacific Ocean. *winks*

My new website has finally gone live and a big thanks to my lovely husband for spending so much time coding it for me (he’s still working the background on it).  I hope you all enjoy it and thankyou for visiting xo

I’ve included the original sketch of the bunny too as I found myself staring at it for ages wondering what colours to do it in. Hopefully it turned out ok.
By the way, I’m not sure how I should be photographing these pictures. I’m guessing straight ahead would be better, so I will endeavour to do that to the others as they come along. But any feedback would be wonderful as I’m so new to this and have no idea what to do. 🙂

I think the heat is getting to me here as I meant to say earlier, please forgive my messy looking studio in the background.  I feel like I’ve got canvasses, completed and partially completed all over the place at the moment, not to mention, kids pics, kids art all over the walls from school.
