Moving to new digs

Posted in Art, Blogging on... with tags , , , , , on November 15, 2013 by lollipop-designs

Hi everyone, I’ve been quiet online lately as I’m in the midst of sourcing supplies for a Commission I’ve received from a hospital here in Melbourne (but more on that in another post).

My main website http://www.lollipop-designs.com has been under maintenance and one of the final steps is to move my blog over there, which will enable the freedom of file sizes, main store, ordering, contact, commissions etc.

I will have a redirect on this one for the next 12 months and I hope that during that time, your bookmarks will be updated and newsletters will show the new blog site. At least, that’s what the plan is and I just hope it all goes smoothly. *fingers crossed*

Until my next post, my best regards to you all!

littlepoppits says NO to bullying

littlepoppits says NO to bullying.

Bullying is such a common action amongst children and even adults today.  Thankfully, it has been brought out into the open more in the last 10 years or so, especially here in Australia.  I’m not familiar with how openly spoken about it is in other countries.

My son’s school has a zero tolerance towards any kind of bullying.  They participate in the Alannah and Madeline Foundation (keeping children safe from violence) Bullying and Cyber Safety program.

It’s fantastic as they have a “Buddy System”.  My son started Prep last year and each Prep student is allocated a “Buddy” who is in Grade 6 (the big kids of the school).  The bigger kids really look after them and it helps the little ones not be afraid of bigger kids and helps them a lot with their confidence to speak up if someone treats them nastily etc.

I must admit, bullying was one of the things I worried about as a parent, when your child is about to begin school.  I’m just glad the school my Husband and I chose for him, has this program in place and it works very well from what we’ve seen so far.

If you would like to find out more about this program just see this link:

Even if you aren’t in Australia, the website could provide you with some ideas that might be able to be implemented into your child’s school.

I definitely say NO to bullying.
